Daily Home Workout Tips

No more excuses, it is time to exercise. There are many reasons why you really need to get into the habit of exercising, at least once a day, for thirty minutes at a time. One reason is to stay healthy, so you can see your kids grow up and lead productive lives. Another is so you can be there for your spouse, growing old together. You want to maintain a healthy weight, so you can avoid a lot of diseases associated with obesity. Some of these include diabetes, and heart disease, as well as other problems.

The biggest problem is that many people have problems with exercising. Some of the problems include lack of money to pay for gym memberships, or to buy exercise equipment for the home. They may feel that they don’t have time to exercise, they are busy with their jobs, kids, and family. Some are just not that motivated. You have to get past all of that, and start getting into the habit of doing some kind of daily routine that is going to get your heart pumping. Any kind of cardio workout is going to do it, so there are a number of exercises you can do daily that really won’t actually feel like it.

Before we get into what kinds of exercises you can do on a daily basis, you have to make a commitment to it, and find the time. You can get up early in the morning, before the rest of the family. You can set a time after dinner, and if you have kids or a spouse, you can get them into the routine as well. This can get younger children into the habit early, and teach them the importance of regular daily exercise. Surely your spouse or significant other will want to support your decisions, and they may even need to get into the routine as well.

One of the most common forms of exercise is walking. You can walk just about anywhere, around the block, the neighborhood, etc. You can walk just about any time of the year, so there is no excuse not to. You can go out in the morning before anyone else gets up, when it’s quiet, or you can go out after dinner. This may also be a great way to meet the neighbors. Walking is better than running, because it puts less of a strain on your feet, your muscles and joints. You can start of small, with short trips, then as it gets easier, you can try for more distance.

Bike riding is another way you can do exercise without it seeming like it. Again, you can ride a bike just about anywhere, and depending on where you live, almost any time of the year. It too is a low impact way to get a cardio workout. If you live close to work, ride your bike three times a week to work. You can use your same technique for riding as you do for walking, around the block and the neighborhood, etc.

Once you get into the routine of exercising you can try other things. One of the biggest obstacles people face when exercising is the dreaded winter. It’s too cold to get outside, you start driving everywhere, and become a couch potato. You can’t stop your routine, but you can change it up. If you have the room, you can try other at home exercises. There are plenty of resources to help you online, In addition, there are plenty of different kinds of equipment you can use that don’t cost a lot of money.

One of my favorites is Crossfit jump rope, available through Amazon. Jumping rope is a great way to get a full workout in the shortest amount of time. This isn’t your kids’ jump rope, it uses an adjustable steel cable, and comes with its own carry bag. You can purchase it right now for just under $16.
